Some ideas are game changers and buying from social enterprise is one of them. This year our awards showcased the pioneers demonstrating that social enterprise procurement is catching on. Let’s celebrate the innovative social enterprises, businesses and governments leading the charge in #Business4Good.
The theme: Social procurement game changers
This year the awards showcased how social enterprise procurement is catching on around the country.
We recognised four region-based award winners:
- Social procurement game changer - VIC/TAS region
- Social procurement game changer - NSW/ACT region
- Social procurement game changer- NT/QLD region
- Social procurement game changer - SA/WA region
With one overall national winner:
- Social procurement trailblazer - National

National winner: Two Good Co and Charter Hall
The region award winners were determined in collaboration with our partners at Australia's social enterprise state and territory networks. The national winner was determined in collaboration with Social Enterprise Australia (SEA).
We received award submissions from over 100 organisations across the country and recently joined our members, partners and collaborators across the #Business4Good sector to celebrate the national winner at SEWF22.

The Details
You can view the game changers across our regions and the national winner for 2022 via our Hall of Fame.
- Submissions open: Wednesday, 29 June 2022.
- Submissions closed: Friday, 22 July 2022.
- State region events kick off: August, 2022. (Keep an eye out on our events page and your inbox for announcements).
- National Trailblazer announced: SEWF 2022 Main Event in September, 2022.
Note: Due to the volume of submissions received in previous years, only winning applicants will be contacted prior to state region events.
- Criteria 1: An outline of the collaboration between the certified social enterprise and the business or government member.
- Criteria 2: The innovation and/or changes in practice that unlocked new social procurement opportunities.
- Criteria 3: How the partners advocated internally or externally to create new social procurement opportunities.
- Criteria 4: The impact created through the social procurement activity.
A note on impacts: Impact includes a social, environmental or community benefit involving an individual or group of beneficiaries. The impact outlined in your submission can be quantitative or qualitative.
- The Social Traders team will rank your submission based on each criteria item response, out of ten.
- The short-listed applicants will be reviewed by the involved social enterprise network.
- The winners will be selected based on those who demonstrate the most impactful responses to the four criteria.
- Be showcased at your region based event, as a pioneer in social enterprise procurement.
- Win a ticket for one representative from your organisation to attend the Social Enterprise World Forum, 2022.
- Position your organisation as a leader in the #Business4Good movement, contributing to a more equitable Australia.
- Receive recognition for social procurement best practice, to an audience of over 20k across Social Traders social media channels.
